Funding and transparency
Credible research requires visible funding. This page sets out how CMPG is financed and the safeguards that keep the research independent.
- Legal structure
- CMPG is registered as a charitable trust in India and governed by its board of trustees. It has no shareholders and distributes no profit.
- Funding sources
- The Centre is presently self-funded by its founders. As grant and philanthropic funding is accepted, each source will be disclosed on this page with the amount and purpose.
- What we do not accept
- CMPG does not accept funding conditioned on research conclusions, undisclosed funding, or engagements to advocate a funder's commercial position.
- Editorial independence
- Research design, methods and conclusions rest with the authors and the Centre's internal review, not with any funder. Errors, once identified, are corrected publicly.
- Conflicts of interest
- Researchers disclose any interest in the entities or policies they analyse, and disclosures accompany the relevant publications.
